Weekly Investigation #1
SO - in order to get into the practice of just doing it - filling up the bank - I resolved to post something here once a week for the entire year. The purpose is not to post finished, polished work that I think is amazing, new, or even necessarily original - but to post something I'm working on and think is interesting for whatever reason. Not finished work - just something. And maybe it will lead to something, maybe it won't.
This week I decided to experiment with video on my new iPad mini my mom gave me for Christmas. Below is a little diddy of me putting on my gloves, part of the costume for The Contaminant, which Christian and I hope to expand upon this year. This video is cut from one shot and I did ALL of the editing on the subway! (So this is what happens when you run out of Candy Crush lives....)
What I like: the close up angles, the different things you can do with rubber (stretching, etc.), the folds and creases of different types of materials, that the difficulty of putting on these gloves can be relatable to a broad audience (which means that this could be easy and fun to play with in a performance setting.)
