BIO, in words
Sarah is a NYC-based performer and dancer/choreographer who specializes in character and improv-based partnering and group work. She is currently the co-director of MoveWorks, a company member of Amalgamate Dance Company, and has recently worked with Becky Radway Dance Projects, Aubrey A. Daval, and with theatre company, the PurpleThreads Ensemble. Before moving to New York City in 2010, she choreographed solo, group, and site-specific work and taught ballet and modern at Boston University, where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Her work has been presented by Triskelion Arts, Dixon Place, Saratoga Springs Artsfest, Boston University, The Dance Complex, Chez Bushwick, the Amalgamate Artist Series, at the Tank, and more. She has a 500-hr level yoga certification from YogaWorks and works for Foreign Affairs magazine.

CHOREOGRAPHY
Group Choreography: over 25 group works ranging in style from abstract modernism, to narrative theatre, to full length site-specific work. Subject matters have included a gang of wacky mad scientists, bird-like/turtle-like creatures undergoing evolution, a blue-grass band battle, and the abstract exploration and visualization of breath.
Solo Choreography: I create and perform movement solos that are generally structured improvisations with a clear character and purpose. Props, comedic timing, and storytelling are an integral feature. Past solos have featured a nervous interview candidate and Helga, a woman who grew up isolated in the deep forest.
